Riq Woolen Trade: Eagles Add Elite Length to Secondary

The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired cornerback Riq Woolen from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a fourth-round pick.

At 6'4" with elite ball skills, Woolen gives the Eagles the kind of physical corner who can match up with the biggest receivers in the league.

Why This Trade Makes Sense

With Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean establishing themselves as building blocks, Woolen provides the Eagles with a third starting-caliber corner who can play on the outside.

His length allows him to disrupt passing lanes and contest catches at the catch point - something the Eagles have lacked at times.

Woolen's Potential

In his rookie year with Seattle, Woolen had 6 interceptions and looked like a future Pro Bowler. Injuries and inconsistency have slowed him since, but the talent is undeniable.

A change of scenery to a winning organization with Vic Fangio's defense could be exactly what Woolen needs to reach his potential.
