Jordan Davis Eagles Extension

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a major move to secure their defensive future, signing Jordan Davis to a three-year, $78 million contract extension. The deal makes Davis one of the highest-paid defensive tackles in the NFL.

The Deal Breakdown

Davis's new contract averages $26 million per year, putting him in elite company among interior defensive linemen. The deal includes $52 million guaranteed, showing the Eagles' commitment to their young star.

The former first-round pick out of Georgia has developed into exactly what the Eagles hoped when they selected him 13th overall in 2022. His combination of size (6'6", 340 lbs) and athleticism makes him nearly impossible to move at the point of attack.

What Davis Brings to the Defense

While his sack numbers aren't eye-popping, Davis's value goes far beyond the stat sheet. He commands double teams on nearly every play, freeing up Jalen Carter, Josh Sweat, and the edge rushers to make plays.

In 2025, Davis recorded:

  • 52 tackles (31 solo)
  • 4.5 sacks
  • 8 tackles for loss
  • 15 quarterback hits

More importantly, the Eagles' run defense ranked third in the NFL with Davis anchoring the middle.

Building a Dynasty on the D-Line

With Davis locked up alongside Jalen Carter, the Eagles now have two young, dominant interior defenders under contract for the foreseeable future. Add in Brandon Graham's veteran leadership and the continued development of Nolan Smith, and Philadelphia's defensive line should remain elite for years.

"Jordan is a foundational piece for us," GM Howie Roseman said. "When you have a player of his caliber and character, you do everything you can to keep him here."

What It Means for the Future

The Davis extension is part of a larger strategy by Roseman to lock up the Eagles' young core. With cap space expected to increase over the next few years, Philadelphia is positioning itself to remain competitive while keeping homegrown talent.

For Davis, it's validation of his hard work and development. For the Eagles, it's another step toward building a championship-caliber defense.
