The Philadelphia Eagles have signed wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million, bringing another weapon to an offense looking to bounce back in 2026.

A Childhood Dream

For Brown, signing with Philadelphia is more than just a football move—it's personal. The Hollywood, Florida native grew up an Eagles fan, getting hooked on the team while watching them face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX back in 2005.

"I feel like I haven't played my best ball," Brown said at his introductory press conference. "I feel like all that is still in front of me. Here in Philly, I'm ready to introduce Hollywood to the city of Philadelphia."

What Hollywood Brings

Brown, who turns 29 in June, is coming off a season with the Kansas City Chiefs where he caught 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games. While those numbers don't jump off the page, Brown's deep speed remains elite.

Career highlights:

  • 371 career receptions for 4,322 yards and 33 TDs
  • Best season: 91 catches, 1,008 yards in 2021 (Ravens)
  • 4.27 40-yard dash at his 2019 Pro Day
  • Super Bowl champion with the Eagles in 2025... sort of

That last point is complicated. Brown was on the Eagles roster in 2024 after being traded from Arizona, but a preseason shoulder injury required surgery and he missed the entire year on IR. He got a ring when the Eagles beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, but he never took the field in midnight green.

The Prove-It Factor

The one-year, $6.5 million structure is telling. Both sides are betting on a bounceback. If Brown stays healthy and produces, he'll cash in next offseason at age 30. If not, the Eagles aren't on the hook for anything beyond this year.

With A.J. Brown trade rumors swirling and DeVonta Smith potentially becoming the WR1, Hollywood could have a real opportunity to carve out a significant role—especially with rookie Makai Lemon also in the mix.

Reunited with Jalen

Brown already has a connection to the locker room. He and Jalen Hurts share mutual respect from their paths crossing in the league.

"Man, I've been watching Jalen play for a while," Brown said. "Even previous teammates, everyone talked highly about him."

If Brown can stay on the field, he gives Hurts another vertical threat to stretch defenses—something the Eagles offense desperately needs heading into 2026.
