Eagles UDFA Class: Hidden Gems to Watch in Training Camp

The 2026 NFL Draft wasn't the only way the Eagles added talent. Philadelphia signed eight undrafted free agents who will compete for roster spots this summer.

Deontae Lawson, LB, Alabama

The headliner of the UDFA class, Lawson was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide and wore the coveted green dot helmet as their defensive signal-caller. He slipped due to an ACL tear in late 2024, but his football intelligence is undeniable.

Joshua Weru, EDGE, Kenya

The Eagles drafted one International Player Pathway athlete (Uar Bernard) and signed another. Weru brings raw athleticism that could develop into legitimate edge rush production.

Tyler Underwood, LS, Florida

With no long snapper currently on the roster, Underwood might be the UDFA most likely to make the team. He appeared in 50 games for the Gators - that experience matters.

J. Wright, TE, Ole Miss

Wright was a playmaker for Lane Kiffin, posting 39 receptions for 635 yards and 5 TDs with an impressive 16.3 yards per catch. He has the versatility to line up all over the formation.

The Reality

Not all of these players will make the 53-man roster. But the Eagles have a history of finding diamonds in the rough. Someone from this group could surprise.
