The Philadelphia Eagles have restructured Dallas Goedert's contract, creating cap space while ensuring the Pro Bowl tight end remains with the team through 2027.
The Numbers
Goedert's restructure converts $12 million of his 2026 base salary into a signing bonus, spreading the cap hit over the remaining years of his deal. The move creates approximately $9.6 million in immediate cap space for the Eagles.
This is classic Howie Roseman cap management - creating flexibility now while keeping core players in place.
Goedert's Value to the Offense
Despite the Eagles' offensive struggles in 2025, Goedert remained one of the most reliable targets in the passing game. He finished the season with:
- 58 catches
- 612 receiving yards
- 4 touchdowns
More importantly, Goedert is one of the best blocking tight ends in football. In an offense that relies heavily on the run game, his ability to seal the edge and create running lanes is invaluable.
A Franchise Cornerstone
Selected in the second round of the 2018 draft, Goedert has developed into one of the NFL's premier tight ends. He's made the Pro Bowl twice and has been a model of consistency throughout his career.
"Dallas does everything we ask," head coach Nick Sirianni said. "He blocks, he catches, he's a leader. There's a reason we wanted to keep him here."
Looking Ahead
With Goedert locked in and the addition of rookie tight end Eli Stowers through the draft, the Eagles have one of the deepest tight end rooms in the NFL. Expect the position to remain a focal point of the offense in 2026.
